PF Wiki Passworded
Well, the POPFile wiki has fallen victim to another spammer even though non white listed URLs of any form will not display. This one did some actual damage. It was the last straw for POPFile's creator and now the wiki is passworded. Passwording a wiki really sucks. This one is used for documenting POPFile so it is not unreasonable to lock it, but it will likely prevent a number of people from ever contributing their knowledge no matter how easy it is to get a password. Other more general purpose wikis with a real wiki community would be really hurt if they were passworded. At least here it is only documentation.
The spammer was of course from China. His URL is vod-solutions.com and he thinks he is "Your Ultimate video on demand solutions". He has been chongqed.
If you go to this spammer's site you will discover how dumb they really are. They have no clue how to build a website. Their front page body is done in Flash. Their menu system sucks. Most of their other pages don't even exist. Their website feels like its being Slashdotted its so slow, that really convinces me they are "Your Ultimate video on demand solutions". With the blazing speed of their website two snails could have a very productive video conference.
Their about us page (one of the few that actually works) says:
More evidince of how stupid they are, they spammed an anti-blogspam post:

What I really like is their "Successful story" link. Which immediately takes you to "The requested URL /succeed/succeed.htm was not found on this server."
They've got a long, long way to go before they can claim any kind of success. Unless you think that a password-protected POPFile wiki is a success.
