Slashdot: Webmasters Pounce On Wiki Sandboxes

Slashdot has caught on to the problem of wiki spammers, they posted links to Philipp, the reformed Nigritude spammer, and to an article about it at Netcraft which happens to link to usemod.com's WikiSpam, which links to us. While its not a direct link, traffic here has picked up some. Hopefully more people will spread the word, and the word is chonqging.

I have a script that can fix wiki spam on most wikis now. I think this wiki spam thing is not going to last long though, because it is so easy to fix, even on wikis that are not your own. Really though most people just need to upgrade their wiki and keep an eye on it.
I am a bit fearful of automated despamming of wikis but have seen the suggestion several places. How well does it return the page to its former version? Does it work on different wiki softwares? I would like to know more about it, if it works safely it would really hurt the spammers. If you don't want to let it out publicly could you email it? I would love to see how you accomplish it.
